About
Code & Food is a collection of posts on things I have learned (≈ code) & enjoyed living for (≈ food). I want this blog to be educational, fun, but most of all personal, making it a space where you may come across some of my personal journal entries within certain posts. There are topics that aren’t directly related to ‘code’ and ‘food’, but if they taught me something new or made me appreciate life, you’ll find them in this blog.
Journaling has played a significant role in my life since I moved to the United States alone at the age of 14. Revisiting them helps me reflect on my journey, finding comfort during tough times and gratitude during good ones. This blog is an extension of that practice, capturing the decisions and moments that have shaped me.

This is my third buildspace’s nights and weekends, having previously completed seasons 1 and 3. My s1 project was web3 powered blog, and for s3, I developed Big Magic AI, an AI assistant tool for wordpress blogging. At the s3 irl event, Jeff from buildspace asked me — “which one are you more excited to work on, Big Magic AI or your blog?”
His question took me by surprise — I hadn’t discussed my personal blog at buildspace, but he was right. Last year in 2023, I read through all of my journals since childhood, line by line, and I noticed that I have dreamed of blogging since 2018. I picked side projects on blogging software tools because blogging is really what I have been wanting to do for years.

I still sweat a little every time I’m about to press “publish” button. It reminds me of middle school days in Florida when my English was so terrible that my teacher once commented on my essay, “I can’t understand your essay, Jeesun”. But that was 20 years ago. Now, I am going to make “Code and Food” blog a reality. I cannot wait to share my stories on what I have learned (code) and enjoyed living for (food) beyond my personal journals.
I created Code & Food to see where my curiosity in life will take me next.
